Ribbon cut on refurbished Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Members of the community, the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Public Education, and Oatland Island staff came together on March 5 to celebrate the renovation of the Oatland Island Wildlife Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially recognize the completion of the project. The $4.5 million renovation of the main building is another ESPLOST funded project. The Oatland Island Wildlife Center’s main building was constructed in 1927 as a retirement home for the International Order of Railroad Conductors. SCCPSS has been using the property as an environmental education center for students and the general public for the past 37 years.
