Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle visited Jacob G. Smith Elementary School on Friday, February 25, 2011, in recognition of the school’s achievement of “Bronze” status with the Healthy Schools Alliance. Mrs. Jane Tyler, Principal of Jacob G. Smith Elementary, is very pleased with the achievement and recognition from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. “The staff and students at Jacob G. Smith Elementary were thrilled by the Lt. Governor’s visit. As a nationally recognized school by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, we are constantly seeking ways to improve all areas of our students’ lives: academically, behaviorally, and nutritionally. We were honored to have Mr. Cagle at our Jump Rope for Heart day and Walking Trail Groundbreaking.” The Lieutenant Governor participated in Jump Rope for Heart with the 3rd and 5th grade students and attended the Walking Trail Groundbreaking on the annex playground.
